Let’s discuss Tire Pressure monitoring.

Tire Pressure Monitoring is very important for every driver to take note of. In most cars, there are tire pressure monitoring systems that help drivers properly monitor their tire pressure.

The main purpose of these tire pressure monitoring systems is the alert you whenever the tire pressure becomes too low or too high. When the light comes on, it simply means that the tire could result in a possible tire failure. As a driver, it is important to know the importance of tire pressure.

A tire, when inflated properly will reduce thread movement, reduce rolling resistance and lead to longer tire life. Both overinflation and underinflation lead to possible tire tread wear and tire failure. Overinflation leads to decreased traction and the inability to absorb road impact. On the other hand, underinflation will cause decreased fuel economy and tire overload.

There are tire pressure monitoring lights that warn you when your tire pressure seems to be too low. To locate it on the dashboard, it is horseshoe-shape light with exclamation point in the center. This light comes on whenever your tire pressure gets too low or too high.

However, even with the tire pressure monitoring system, it is very important to check your tires manually at least once a month especially before a long trip to guarantee safety.
